Hello friends and followers! Something more experimental I created, this is a drawing of a T-Rex mainly sketched from imagination. I did this using coloured pencils and ink on canvas board.
I wanted to see what I could achieve with these materials to help me with my block. Overall, it isn’t the best thing I’ve done by far. The anatomy and proportions are slightly out of place here and there, and the material was a tad punishing to my coloured pencils, but I suppose that’s what happens when you try to go outside of the box to experiment and take risks!
I love these canvas boards though…they have an appeal to me that I like. They are canvases that are flat enough to frame, yet strong, and I like the confidence I feel when working on strong surfaces. It’s just a shame that these are backed with coarse fabric… surfaces like this pair better with oil or acrylic paints, and less with the drawing media I like to use such as pencils or ink (although ink does adhere to canvas).
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this and I shall see you next time (Hopefully I’ll be sticking to my regular Monday schedules). Cheers all!
